Encouraging Faith at Home 

Parents have the biggest impact on growing faith in their children. How can Children’s Ministry leaders support and encourage our families? Using the ‘Faith at Home’ course developed in 2022 at St. Paul’s Bloor Street, I will share some simple ideas to help parents grow faith in their children. The course material is accessible for all families, and includes family discipleship, reading the bible, prayer, serving together, and the power of ritual. The course was originally presented in an online format.

Biography

Janet has served as the Children’s Minister at St. Paul’s Bloor Street since 2004. She has led the Children’s Ministry staff and volunteer teams in this diverse, downtown church community through many seasons. Janet has been privileged to serve as part of a strong lay and ordained staff team at St. Paul’s, learning and growing over the years. 

She is passionate about making church a welcoming, fun, and safe space for children and their families.  

Janet and her husband have three adult children, and one sweet grandson. She sees the crucial importance of helping to encourage families in discipling their children, plus the incredible power of online connections
